Sonicsamus called it "Sonic Now Loading", and boy was he right. The town missions are especially annoying, because it stops to load like 3 times before you can even start the mission. It's so annoying! The action stages have these terrible glitchy ways to die all over the place.
Ryan just beat Silver. Silver has this annoying habit of doing a 1-hit KO if you get too close to him. Just what fighting a telekinetic person would be like, eh? Although we did have some fun remarking, "Silver just hit Sonic with mind bullets .... MIND BULLETS!!!"
It really makes me sad, because underneath all the glitches and loadtimes is a really cool Sonic game. The music is nice, the graphics are pretty (although the transition from day to night is noticeably absent). There was an article in Ryan's last Game Informer about how bad games are made. It talks about how the programmers start out with a good game concept. But they get it halfway done and the publisher tells them to remake it from scratch. Or they have to churn out a demo, which kills more precious time. And finally they hit their deadline with only a quarter of the work done, and the publisher pushes it out anyway, because it's all about teh monies. So that's how bad games are made. It's not really the programmers' fault ... it's the publishers and the other bigwigs putting pressure on the little guys.
So Sega, lay off on your programmers if you want to have better Sonic games. Sonic 360 is a crying waste of potential. Although it does give me some fun comic material.
Sonic: So Tails, let's go--
[Sonic freezes as a Now Loading scrolls across his face]
Sonic: --rescue the princess and--
[Sonic freezes as a Now Loading scrolls across his face]
Sonic: --beat that Eggman!
And no kidding, at the end of the first stage, Tails as good as tells Sonic, "Sorry Sonic, our princess is in another castle!"
Sonic: So why in the world did I have to DIE A MILLION TIMES ON WAVE OCEAN????
Tails: Sucks to be you.

However i warn you, if you haven't beat it as sonic yet your in for a treat. At one point you have to pass some sort of rite, and to do it one of the three challenges is to kill 30 opponets with out taking damage. It takes maybe 8 minutes to load, and the glitches are so bad I had to do it maybe 15 times. I was literally screaming "F*** You" each time I hit an enemy around the 7th go through, much to my bro's amusement.

I still made time to beat the game because the story is great IMO, and I actually still own the game (although I wish I didn't pay 60 bucks for it).
Silver is pretty much the only one you can play the best as since he is slower so you don't encounter loading screens so much.
And the saddest thing is that SEGA is not doing anything about it! When Halo 3 came out, it had it's fair share of odd glitches (one in particular I call the Punching Glitch, where you can punch as hard as a rock in one punch, then hit like a pansy the next), but at least Bungie made patches to fix the game!
Let us pray that Sonic Unleashed will meet the same fate. Sonic does not deserve this treatment at all.
Oh, and Dark Hedgehog speaks truth about the rite of passage. Three tests, plagued with loading screens, zero rings in one of them. I was fortunate to have gotten all S-Rank on all town missions.

But, the game wasn't all that bad overall.
I enjoyed the music, new characters (except Elise was a tad too creepy with the whole being in love with Sonic thing...), boss battles (especially Mephiles and Solaris...), elabrorate storyline and Blaze was fun, but a little short lived in use...
Mephiles was a great bad guy, but I think they should have added him in another game, or else we will end up associating the market failure with him, as we all seem to...
I hope Sega plans to finish and rerelease this game... so much potential is being wasted from thier lack of time to finish it...
It's a little sad my Mom paid $60 for it when it came out as part of my "thank-you-for-being-a-tax-deduction" gift... but now it's $20... at least it was easy to replace when the system scratched the first copy...
Sega... please don't disappoint us with Unleashed... I hope you've had enough time with this one...

Oh, and the loading time and stinking camera annoys me.
But I've made Tails fall down a few times and it was amusing. o.o
Hmm, look for the...
WHOOOOAH!
Wow! (pause) He fell?

I heard that StH06 is pretty much the worst thing Sega's churned out so far, though. Too bad. Some elements of it had a lot of potential, like you said. They just need to delay stuff like other companies do. X'D

Then again, so do Shadow's levels where I'm required to use a vehicle. Gods... >_< They had a good idea there, but noooo! He's too much like Sonic, lets gimp him and make him act like a midget human! Shadow wants to be a real boy!
No complaints about Silver though. >_>
