Gosh, I've come up with two original characters whom I LIKE. What may become of this?
Anyway, this is Charr, a dragon in a zoo who is kept perpetually chained because he is fond of eating people. Then one day a small kitsune (multi-tailed fox) orphan named Dusk crawls into his cage. Charr is found with her nestled between his forelegs, his wings cupped protectively around her. This puts his keepers in a bad spot, because they're too afraid to go into his pen in order to remove the fox.
Charr begins to plot his escape ...
Painted in Corel Painter. I need an easy way to make scales. Any ideas?

I must say, I really do like these two as well. They play out so awesome in the story, and Dusk does it all with her thumb in her mouth. Best 6 year old ever! (I love how they were also trained by Salem, so they are beyond their years in skill and integrity.)
I look forawrd to seeing more adventures from them on the future!
