A bereaved mother dragon adopts a stray human child. What will come of this? Only time will tell.
This started out as an experiment in coloring a vector-inked pic. I planned for all the hard lines to still show, but eventually I liked the painted-out look better. Some of the lines still show, but most of them are gone.
Also, scale-less dragons are so much easier to color. I really got to play with her curves.
Perhaps i ought to log on to DA at this time more often; there's been so much great artwork tonight!
This piece is no exception; the colouring and lighting on the dragon are very well done (i like the brush-stroke style texturing, as opposed to an artificial computer gradient), and the contrast in detail between the figures in the foreground and the landscape background works really well.

Heh. Little girl is going to be rich.... Dating could be a problem, though. A lot of knights seeking her hand, but they'll all want to kill mom first... Neat work. 'Specially on the mom's face. Looks like a smile even on an animal jaw... And really cool concept.
I love concepts like this one, and you executed it beautifully. It seems like you don't see a lot of female dragons in art, and if you do they're not doing anything particularly motherly, so this is a nice change. She's a very pretty and feminine, dragon to. It's really sweet to see a fearsome beast coddling over a small, weak child. She's even letting her play with her treasure! Now that's love.
I'll tell you what will come with this: A flying human.

We love one another But what does that mean? Are we limit by spirit, forced apart by machine? Love transcends bound, transcends consequence and meaning. Does that limit it? Does that tarnish its sincerity? Just the opposite. I love you.
Hey, that would be a neat story. There are so many stories about humans adopting baby dragons, that would be quite a twist to turn it around like that.
